Free CERT training in Montecito!

November 7 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm PST

Through CERT, citizen volunteers are trained to perform crucial emergency functions during the period immediately following a disaster. Learn how to safely serve your family, household, neighborhood, and community. CERT training includes: preparedness, fire suppression, triage and basic first aid, light search and rescue, team organization, terrorism awareness/response, disaster psychology, and disaster simulation drills.

Trainees must complete the coursework but can makeup missed classes during separate CERT trainings countywide. Please let your instructors know if you plan to attend separate trainings to complete your certificate.

The Montecito Emergency Response & Recovery Action Group (MERRAG, pronounce “mirage”) is hosting a three-day basic CERT training from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on November 7 and 8, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on November 9. Classes will be held at Montecito Fire Protection District headquarters, 595 San Ysidro Road.

All CERT trainings are multi-day commitments. Please contact the Organizer or refer to the events calendar for the full schedule.
